Public Democracy LA’s mission: Return decision-making power to the people of Los Angeles
A sample of the people of Los Angeles can represent the large community in an important decision. Juries have been doing this for thousands of years. This can solve systemic under-representation, regulatory capture, and exclusionary public input.
Draw on the city’s creativity, diversity, and participatory spirit to reimagine democracy, putting people at the center of governance.
Citizens’ Assemblies are a different kind of democratic process that bring together a group of everyday people to tackle difficult policy questions.
